Ohio is blessed with a host of bike trails or multi-use trails that are frequented by bikers, hikers, and walkers. Utilizing old railroad beds, these trails crisscross the countryside and given their rail line background, normally appear as tree-lined bike paths. Many of these bike paths arise from the rails to trails movement, while others in the Miami Valley are the result of Dayton planners a century ago who understood the need to protect our levies from commercial development.
