Cowan Lake State Park

Cowan Lake State Park encompasses Cowan Lake which is named for Clinton County’s first surveyor.  Cowan Lake S.P. operates under the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and consists of 1775 acres of scenic inlets, wooded shorelines and groves of maple beech trees and wildflowers.  I like visiting the park for its peaceful waterscapes.  Cowan Lake is stunning at twilight and even in the middle of winter as the sun sets over the glistening ice.
