Alton

Alton, Illinois, resides along the Mississippi River and serves as the quintessential river town.  Alton also hosts a major crossing point across the river by US 67 and the Clark Bridge, named for William Clark.  At 4,600 feet long, the Cable-stayed bridge carries traffic from Illinois to Missouri, particularly, the northern part of St Louis.  This set of images captures the Clark Bridge during a colorful sunset as barge traffic crosses under its span.
