In evidence-based design, researchers found nostalgic landmarks such as old barns or countryside farms produce feelings of peacefulness and calm.  Ohio offers many cultural artifacts such as Ohio barns, barn art, and barn decoration which evoke warm memories from nostalgic scenes.  Whether a patient or a client, these quaint scenes evoke a sense of calm, and healing and reduce stress.
