Fernald Preserve

The Fernald Preserve (Fernald site), formerly known as the Feed Materials Production Center, is a former uranium production facility located 18 miles northwest of Cincinnati, Ohio.  After the discovery of uranium in the groundwater, the plant was closed, and significant remediation began.  Today, Fernald Preserve provides opportunities for limited public access including wildlife viewing, environmental education, birdwatching, walking, and hiking.
