The Story: Island MetroPark holds many features including the Gayle B. Price Pedestrian Bridge. This iconic red cable-stayed bikeway bridge spans the Great Miami that connects Island MetroPark to Dayton’s Triangle Park by the Great Miami River Recreational Trail which transits each park. Gayle B. Price Jr graduated from Oakwood High School, then Princeton. He also flew F-84s in Korea before returning to Dayton joining the family business, Price Brothers & Co.; a concrete construction company that helped rebuild Dayton’s watershed infrastructure after the Great Flood of 1913.
