Liberty Park, Twinsburg Ledges

Liberty Park is part of the Summit Metro Parks System and lies near Twinsburg, Ohio in Summit County.  The park consists of Sharon Conglomerate which is a sandstone with distinctive quartz pebbles.  As recent glacial drainage cut through crevasses, weaker rock layers under the conglomerate eroded and the subsequent void under the conglomerate ledges failed under their own weight forming slump blocks.  Today, the Ledges trail meanders through the forest floor, hikers navigate around the large moss-covered boulders basking in the sunlight under a canopy of trees making the Twinsburg Ledges an intriguing hike.
