Bill Yeck Park

Bill Yeck Park – A Natural Legacy in Centerville, Ohio

William S. Yeck grew up in the Akron area in the 1920s and moved to Washington Township in 1951. Always with an interest in green space and nature, Bill agreed to head up the newly formed Park District in 1959.  This park was originally known as Sugar Valley Park.  But in 1996, it was renamed to honor Bill Yeck, and his service as the first director of the Centerville-Washington Park District.

Things to do at Bill Yeck Park:

  • Scenic Hiking Trails – Explore a network of trails winding through diverse habitats, offering opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and nature appreciation.
  • Tri-Centennial Time Trail – Established in 1996, this unique trail demonstrates 100 years of natural succession, showcasing the transformation from meadow to forest
  • Historic Smith House – Dating back to 1815, the Smith House is the former Victor and Mary Jane Smith property located along Centerville Station Road. The 37-acre site includes a historic home, meadow and woods.
