Russells Point

Welcome to Russells Point: Capturing Local Pride through Fine Art Photography

Russells Point, Ohio is a charming town in Logan County named after John Russell.  Born in 1847 on the east side of Indian Lake, he started his own farm with an 1891 lease from the Bureau of Public Works.  He eventually moved on while the city carrying his name incorporated in 1928.

Russells Point quickly became a popular summer resort town. With its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities, it attracted vacationers seeking a peaceful escape. The town's history is intertwined with the development of Indian Lake, which was originally constructed as a feeder lake for the Miami and Erie Canal. Over time, the lake and its surrounding areas evolved into a haven for boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
