The History of Sharon Woods

Sharon Woods is part of the Great Parks of Hamilton County and has been a beloved destination for outdoor enthusiasts since its establishment in 1930.  The park spans over 730 acres and includes a variety of habitats, from woodlands to wetlands.  The park’s namesake, Sharon Lake, was created as a result of damming Sharon Creek in the 1930s, adding a picturesque body of water that quickly became a favorite for boating, fishing, and photography.
