Poppies

This gallery features poppies.  The most common flower in this field was the Ornamental Poppy (papaver orientale).  The poppies in this field need were planted by an energy company as a place for their employees to walk around during their breaks.  I’ve captured this field at various times of the day.  Most of these images were captured prior to the pandemic and the sale of the business.  As of today, this feed no longer exists.

The setting sun hangs over this prairie scene where the photographer rendered the bright orb as a sunburst that warmly backlights the red poppies and host of purple and pink wildflowers which stretch on for a couple acres.
