Bridge of Dreams, Knox County, Ohio No. 8

The Story:   While exploring Knox County Ohio, I came across this enchanting autumn scene.  As Ohio communities began converting old railroad beds to a rich bike trail network, Mohican Valley Trail planners were stymied by the 370-foot bridge requirement to span the Mohican River, near Brinkhaven OH.  Trail opponents called the planners “dreamers.”  Today, the $90,000 Bridge of Dreams is the second longest covered bridge in Ohio and occasionally serves as a convenient path for Amish buggies.

The Rest of the Story:  With fall colors taking to Ohio’s rolling hills, I planned my trip.  For me, the rainy fall weather was a blessing as the flat light seemed to make the leaves glow.  Exploring this bridge took a while given its size.  After shooting both ends, I began to pack up my gear when I noted a small dot on the trail.  It was too large to be a jogger, and too slow for a bicyclist.  After a while, I swore it looked like a horse and buggy.  Given the slow trot, I took my time composing the scene.
