The Story:     This scene lies in front of the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, in Dayton Ohio.  These grounds entail those used by the Wright Brothers in their pursuit of flight.  Inside lies the Wright-Dunbar Interpretive center and the Aviation Trail Visitors Center, while 30 feet to the right lies the site of the Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop.  In this image, the stylized bike rack pays tribute to the Wright Brothers’ beginnings in the bicycle business.

A front porch façade on the empty lot which once held the home of Wilber and Orville Wright

7 Hawthorne Street, Dayton, Ohio served as the home of Wilbur and Orville Wright as they solved the challenges of controlled flight. Today, the actual house resides at Henry Ford’s Museum in Dearborn, MI. This image captures the original lot of the home which sat a block away from their famous bicycle shop but holds a recreation of their front porch tied to a famous photograph of the brothers. As the Wright Brothers became successful, they erected a new home called Hawthorn Hill in the southern part of Dayton.
