Fayette County West Virginia Road in Autumn No. 1
The Story: While chasing waterfalls in West Virginia, my journey took me through Barbour County. On this perfect autumn day, the Mountaineer Highway gently meandered through the vibrant fall colors.
Rest of the Story: I love chasing country roads. Exploring those peaceful scenes brings back feelings of nostalgia, perhaps aided by a John Denver song planning in the background. There’s nothing new about curvy roads, but as a photographer from Ohio, our roads tend to run north-south or east-west. For me, I find the composition compelling, begging the viewer to ponder about what wonderful scenes is just around the next bend in the road.

Description

As Meadow Bridge Road meanders between Babcock State Park and Meadow Bridge, West Virginia, it guides visitors through a host of graceful curves. These gentle curves form an attractive composition and make the viewer ponder about what pretty view lies around the next bend in the road. These curvy scenes capture the essence of West Virginia’s Anthem, “Take me home country roads.”
