Dayton Salute to Detective Jorge Del Rio No. 7

The Story:           In protecting the Dayton area from criminal activity, Detective Jorge Del Rio passed away while serving its people. As many know, Dayton loves its heroes and when faced with tragedy, its people always find a classy and resilient response to heart-breaking news. On this twilight evening and under spectacular skies, Dayton saluted Detective Del Rio by illuminating the city in blue hues.

The Rest of the Story:   Although I was aware of the passing of Detective Jorge Del Rio, I was unaware of the city’s plans to honor his service.  I felt this particular evening would produce vivid colors so I proceeded to Deeds MetroPark at sunset.  The high-level clouds caught the evening light in amazing colors.  Though I’ve been to this park before, I had never seen all the accent lights take on one color.   As twilight deepened, the symbolism of how Dayton was honoring the passing of Dayton Police Detective Del Rio finally hit me.   In addition to this colorful Dayton skyline sunset, I dwelled at Deeds Point a little longer and captured a Dayton nightscape titled:  Dayton Salute to Detective Jorge Del Rio No. 11.   If you’d like to see similar Dayton art prints, check out my Dayton Skyline Prints.
