Kettering Ohio Lincoln Park Civic Commons Overview

Lincoln Park Civic Commons is a beautiful and vibrant park in Kettering, Ohio.  Is a 16.5-acre park located at 675 Lincoln Park Boulevard, and it is a popular spot for a variety of activities, including walking, fishing, picnicking, and attending concerts. The park is also home to the Fraze Pavilion, an outdoor venue that host concerts throughout the summer months.  Given its proximity to the Kettering Government Center, the parks department considers the Lincoln Park Civic Commons our jewel in Kettering. 

Lincoln Park Civic Commons Features

  • Fraze Pavilion: Fraze Pavilion is a 4,300-seat outdoor amphitheater that hosts a variety of concerts and events throughout the year that opened 30 years ago.
  • Kettering Rocks! Sculpture Gallery: The Kettering Rocks! Sculpture Gallery is an outdoor sculpture park that features a variety of sculptures from artists all over the world.
  • Fishing Pond: The fishing pond is a popular spot for anglers of all ages where the hardscape gracefully meanders around the pond’s edge. 
  • Walking Paths: The park features a number of walking paths that wind through the park and offer stunning views of the pond and sculptures.

Lincoln Park Civic Commons Art Prints

Lincoln Park Civic Commons is a great place for fine art photography.  In fact, many of the park’s quiet corners have become art prints for the local healthcare facilities throughout the Miami Valley.  In fact, two prints were made 8 feet wide and give cancer patients a few moments of respite as they pass through the waiting room. 

  • Leading lines:  For me, I love composing the park's walking paths and other features as tools that lead the viewer's eye into the peaceful scene.
  • Exploring the light: I’ve visited this park in the pre-dawn light during ice storms, summer mornings, foggy fall mornings, and wildly colorful autumn sunsets.  This park is a favored place to play with light. 
  • Focus on the details: The park is full of beautiful details, such as sculptures, flowers, and trees. Take some time to focus on these details to create unique and interesting photographs.
