Pretty Autumn Day Over Kettering Polen Farmhouse No. 2

The Story:    Within the heart of Kettering Ohio lies the Polen Farmhouse which is operated by The City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. The Polen Farm was originally known as the White Oak Farm when it was owned by Joseph Bigger in the 19th Century. In 1940, the Bigger Family sold the farm to Russell V. Polen who arrived in Dayton as a General Motors executive running the Frigidaire plant. He eventually deeded the land and farm to the City of Kettering who today operates the property as a wedding and reception venue. On this day, the historic Polen Farmhouse stands proudly among large autumn-colored trees under a beautiful fall day.
