Dayton Skyline at Twilight

The Story:        I captured this classic blue-hour scene during a mid-spring dry spell over the Miami Valley.  From my vantage point, the composition shows the Great Miami River as it gently passes under the city lights of the Dayton skyline.  The calm waters formed a glassy surface that not only reflects RiverScape MetroPark, but also the office windows catching the last warm colors of this early twilight scene.  Per the approach shared below, this serves as a classic Dayton Fine Art Photography art print.

The Rest of the Story:  Where Spring represents a period of rainfall over Ohio, in 2018, our Spring was fairly dry.  As a result, the Miami River wasn’t a moving muddy mass but was flowing at a lower state similar to late summer.  This produced a low energy state creating smooth surface waters.  Furthermore, I employ long exposures that tend to render water much calmer.  In this case, I used a 15-second exposure.  This image was also a learning point for me.  Twenty minutes earlier, I had just shot another signature image during a colorful sunset (See Dayton Skyline Reflecting Sunset’s Colors No. 1).  At that point, I usually pack up and head home, but I’ve learned that there is a second peak color if one is patient enough to let the hues of twilight develop.  In this case, experience allowed me to create a beautiful Dayton twilight for the city lights and Founders Point.

In all, this is one of my signature fine art prints.  Art consultants like this Daytonscape art print for several aspects.  First, they know wall decor colors quietly contribute to the feel of a room.  In this case, blue is seen as a protective color that symbolizes trust, peace, serenity, and stability.  Secondly, the subject reinforces its colors as the still winds and calm water surface produced a mirror finish on the river which calmly reflects the skyline above.  These attributes make for perfect Dayton office artwork for corporate art clients seeking to emulate the same values in their wall decor.

For those seeking Dayton art prints, either for your foyer/board room I can make this a large canvas print.  If you are seeking a webpage art or a background image for your social media page that celebrates life in Dayton, I can license the image for subsequent use.
