Tecumseh Land Trust in Greene County

Tecumseh Land Trust is a regional nonprofit dedicated to preserving farmland, open space, and natural habitat throughout southwest Ohio. Through conservation easements and land protection agreements, the trust works with private landowners to safeguard working farms and scenic landscapes for future generations.

In Greene County, one of the most visible examples of this stewardship is the Yellow Springs Sunflower Field along U.S. Route 68. Located across from Young’s Jersey Dairy, the field has become a seasonal landmark — drawing visitors each autumn when acres of sunflowers turn toward the sun.

While the Trust protects additional properties in Greene County, many remain privately owned under conservation agreements. The sunflower field, however, has become a widely recognized symbol of preserved farmland meeting public appreciation.

Landmarks & Features of Tecumseh Land Trust Lands

  • Yellow Springs Sunflower Field:  Expansive seasonal blooms along US 68, one of Greene County’s most photographed autumn landscapes.
  • Young’s Jersey Dairy Corridor:   A recognizable landmark location that helps visitors orient themselves to the field.
  • Preserved Agricultural Landscape:   Farmland protected through conservation easements rather than development.
  • Open Sky Views:   Broad rural horizons that enhance sunset compositions and seasonal color fields.

Fine Art Photography of the Yellow Springs Sunflower Field

The Yellow Springs Sunflower Field is unlike wooded preserves or river gorges. It is seasonal, agricultural, and luminous. When in bloom, thousands of sunflowers create layered patterns beneath expansive Greene County skies.

Much of the work in this gallery focuses on scale — wide-angle perspectives showing the rhythm of rows stretching toward the horizon — while others highlight individual blooms catching late-day light.

Because the field is preserved rather than commercialized, the experience remains grounded and authentic. These prints resonate strongly in healthcare and corporate environments where vibrant natural color introduces warmth and optimism without distraction.

The sunflower field is one part of Greene County’s broader preservation story… continue exploring the surrounding parks and protected lands linked below.
