Morris Reserve Foggy Morning No. 11

The Story:      Lots of beauty all over Ohio…and often just outside the front door.  This peaceful scene captures a typical October morning over Morris Reserve in Sugarcreek Township.  On this fall morning, a layer of fog hung over the Little Miami River as a prairie pathway meandered towards the surrounding hillside.  For me, I was drawn to how the warm light illuminated the Golden Rod (Sorghastrum nutans) which had just reached peak bloom.

The Rest of the Story:  In the paragraph above, when I stated that some scenes are just outside the front door, I was speaking with a lot of truth.  Morris Reserve lies 4,000 feet from my front door and by nature of the many prints I have of Morris Reserve, its safe to say is a favored park.   The goldenrod started appearing in this previous farmland about three or four years ago.  With each year, the abundance seems to grow, so I love wandering its prairie paths in autumn at both sunrise and sunset, where the golden light seems to magnify the warm glow.
