Kings Mill Covered Bridge, Waldo Ohio No. 30
The Story: In southeast Marion County Ohio lies a relatively new landmark called King’s Mill Covered Bridge which opened in 2016. Spanning the Olentangy River, the bridge offers travelers along St James Road a feeling of nostalgia. As the previous bridge approached 100 years old, Marion County engineers sought replacement options. The engineers highlighted that besides their pleasing aesthetics and public support, bridges made of wood are lighter, constructed from renewable materials, and are more impervious to road salt. On this late summer day, the sun basks under some of the bluest skies of the season.
