Wright Brothers at Legacy Plaza
The Story: In celebrating Dayton’s famous sons, Wilbur and Orville Wright, Five Rivers MetroPark planners and the Inventing Flight Committee established an aviation heritage site at Deeds Point. From this promontory point where the Great Miami River converges with the Mad River, one can observe the Dayton Skyline and thus the prosperity Miami Valley innovators brought to the Gem City. In preparing for the centennial of flight events, the committee commissioned Mark Henn with creating a piece which captures Wilber explaining his theory of wing warping to Orville using a bicycle inner tub box.
