Springfield Ohio’s First Courthouse Bell
The Story: In a small park on Fountain Street resides an old bronze bell created by the Buckeye Bell Foundry from Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1848. The first city hall of Springfield, Ohio, was built on this spot in 1848. In 1993, the bell was placed here to document the history and to honor the school children who participated in the Fountain Square Project.
