Panorama of the Serpent Mound Historical Site in Late Autumn No. 4
The Story: One of Ohio’s archeological treasures lies in the Great Serpent Mound near Peebles Ohio. It’s a 1348-foot-long effigy mound which many interpret as a snake eating an egg. Much of its history remains unknown but most theories point to it belonging to the Adena Culture or the Fort Ancient Culture. Today, the Serpent Mound Historical Site is protected by Ohio History Connection and is listed as a National Historic Landmark. On this fall day, this 51-image panorama captured this site going through its autumn transition.
