A popular summer wildflower in the part is this Ox-eye Sunflower (Heliopsis helianthoides). It thrives in Green County’s clay soils and displays bright yellow flowers. The species is also known as Smooth Oxeye, Oxeye Sunflower, and False Sunflower. On this summer evening, the Ox-eye Sunflower basked in the warm evening light.
