Eastern Pondhawk Dragonfly No. 4

The Story:      While visiting Possum Creek MetroPark this Eastern Pondhawk Dragonfly (Erythemis simplicicollis) danced among the vegetation surrounding the park’s lake. The females of this species are bright green, while the males take on this blue color. In this image, the plant life served as a distraction, so I selectively desaturated the colors minimizing anything green.

An Eastern Pondhawk Dragronfly where the natural colors of the dragonfly were left untouched as the background colors were desaturated

While visiting Possum Creek MetroPark this Eastern Pondhawk Dragonfly (Erythemis simplicicollis) danced among the vegetation surrounding the park’s lake.
