Cox Arboretum MetroPark Monet Bridge on Summer Day No. 4

The Story:      In 1963, James M. Cox, Jr. donated family lands to the James M. Cox, Jr. Arboretum Foundation.  Years later the foundation and Five Rivers MetroPark formed a unique partnership to preserve the land while sharing it with 650,000 visitors a year.  Of the many features this park offers, this scene captures the Monet Bridge.  The bridge is a replica of the original Japanese Bridge in the garden of Claude Monet.  On this perfect summer day, calm winds allowed the Cox Arboretum Pond to reflect the gardens and the cumulus clouds floating through the blue sky over the Miami Valley.
