The Story:      At the corner of Fountain Avenue and Cliff Park Road in Springfield Ohio lies Veterans Memorial Park. The park represents Clark County Ohio veterans and is operated by the National Trail Parks & Recreation District. Several memorials exist which commemorate the Vietnam Veterans, Military Working Dog teams, and Marines from the First Battalion, Third Marines.

A pair of smooth columns with decorative scroll tops stand on a corner in Springfield Ohio marking the entrance to the Veterans Park Memorial.

At the corner of Fountain Avenue and Cliff Park Road lies the entrance to Springfield Ohio’s Veterans Memorial Park. The entrance features a pair of smooth Tuscan Order stone columns with Ionic Order volutes at the top of the shafts. This park entrance and Veteran’s Bridge was erected in 2016 and reused pillars from the former memorial Hall that was torn down in 2012. On this gorgeous summer day, cumulus clouds float through the blue skies over Clark County.
