Old Log Post Office, Franklin Ohio No. 1
The Story: This log home is Ohio’s oldest surviving post office and the oldest structure in Franklin, Ohio. Built in 1802, the original sat one block to the north. Over time, the building’s owner added onto the structure and installed clapboard on its outer walls. In 1974, the log home was moved to this spot along the Great Miami River Recreational Trail and returned to its initial construction. Today, the structure is operated by the Franklin Area Historical Society and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
