The Story:      Woodland Historic Cemetery and Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio holds many interesting sculptures. This image captures the McMillen Angel. Asa McMillen was a woolen machinery manufacturer. The family commissioned this angle to be sculptured in Italy’s white Carrera marble while the base consists of grey, Dayton Limestone. The angle was sculptured to hold a rag in her left hand indicating she had just wiped the slate clean…forgiving past sins.
