Lane Library, Hamilton Ohio No. 2

The Story:       The Lane Public Library, in Hamilton, Ohio, exists through the will of its supporters. Clark Lane built the library and donated it in 1866. The Great Miami River flood of 1913 damaged the building and contents as did a fire to the rebuilt library in 1919. A historical marker outside the library states, “The name and generous deeds of Clark Lane will never fade from the memories of a grateful people who have been recipients of his favor.”
