Kettering Memorial for 9-11 Sculpture in Spring No. 2

The Story:      Of the many 9-11 memorials around the Miami Valley, the Memorial for 9/11 in Kettering, Ohio, employs a sundial. On the eastern side of Lincoln Park lies Seitz Plaza which surrounds a 26,0000 stone which holds a metal stylus that indicates solar noon every 11 September. The sculpture was created by John Van Alstine of Wells, New York. On this early spring day, the surrounding fruit trees and Eastern Red Buds display their showy colors as daffodils bask in the morning sun.
