The Story:      The interior view of the Greene County Courthouse, in Xenia, Ohio. Architects employed imported white marble on the walls and staircase. Courtroom one contains this leaded stained glass window titled “Justice is Blind” created by Erkins Glass Company of Springfield, Ohio for $400. The window depicts a blindfolded woman holding the scales of justice. The dates 1803, 1809, 1843, and 1902 indicate the years Greene County was established and when each subsequent courthouse was built. The artwork displays the following themes, “The law delights in equity, it covets perfection, it is a rule of Right, and The safety of the people is the supreme law.”
