John H. Patterson Monument in Summer
The Story: In the midst of Hills and Dales MetroPark, Kettering, Ohio resides a monument to one of Dayton’s famous citizens, John Henry Patterson. Many categorize him as an industrialist for the formation of NCR (National Cash Register), but he made a large impact in many other ways by fostering well-lit, safety, and health through large windowed factories. In his three-part memorial, the left side consists of a statue of a man standing with gear while a kneeling woman reads a book.
