Edwards-Maurer Field, Wittenberg University, Springfield Ohio No. 15

The Story:      Wittenberg University claims its founding in 1845 when it first opened in Springfield Ohio as a private liberal arts college aligned with the Evangelical Lutheran Church. The college’s track and football field have hosted the Wittenberg Tigers since 1923. Today, the complex is known as the Edward-Maurer Field. Part of the sports complex entails the Steemer (of the Dublin Ohio Stanley Steemer family) which holds an indoor football field and a 300-meter track.
