Deeds Carillon Christmas Tree at Blue Hour No. 2
The Story: Deeds Carillon serves as an icon over the Dayton area. Colonel Edward Deeds was a Dayton industrialist and innovator and commissioned this tower to honor his family. In the days following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Daytonians gathered around the bell tower on Christmas Eve 1941 (before it was fully finished). In 2005, National Park Service listed the Deeds Carillon on its National Register of Historic Places. Today, park planners erect a temporary Christmas Tree which stands tall over the Miami Valley to Daytonians and travelers along I-75.
