Childrens Garden in the Snyder Park Gardens and Arboretum during Spring No. 2
The Story: With the closing of the Snyder Park Golf Course in 2014, the city converted the grounds into the Snyder Park Gardens and Arboretum. Throughout its 226 acres, they’ve permitted a series of gardens. Once space is dedicated as the Kiwanis Children’s Garden which was designed and built by the Hollandia Gardens Association. They subdivided their garden into five zones; adventure, sensory, nature, round-about, and common areas. On this spring day, the bright red nature hut serves as a mini nature center that captures solar power and recycles rainwater. On this spring day, a sculpture donated by the Cargill Corporation features a boy and girl sitting on a bench while reading a book
