Bellbrook Historical Museum in Spring No. 2

The Story:      This log home was erected in Bellbrook, Ohio in 1825.  Residing at 42 North Main Street, it witnessed 200 years of history pass by its front door.  A few years ago, city officials grew concerned about its foundation and weathering.  Realizing the Bellbrook Historical Museum represented the city’s pride, they funded a significant restoration project.  In removing its clapboard finish, everyone was surprised to learn of its forgotten log construction.  In this image, the home stands proudly under blue skies, where I removed the numerous utility lines in order to portray its original appearance nearly 200 years ago.

If you’d like to see additional scenes from this part of Greene County, check out the Bellbrook Ohio Art Prints gallery.  I also have a series of log cabins like this one under Log Home Art Prints.
