An aged Large-flowered Trillium, John Bryan State Park
The Story: John Bryan State Park offers springtime visitors access to a variety of Ohio wildflowers. On this spring day along the Pittsburgh-Cincinnati Stage Coach Trail, I found this small spread of large-flowered Trillium. This flower is so common that in 1986, it became the State Flower of Ohio. As the flower ages, it begins to turn pink as in this image.
