The Story: In the open lands of eastern Utah along a road that wasn’t paved until 2014 lies the petroglyphs of Nine Mile Canyon. Called the world’s longest art gallery the canyon features rock art pecked into the desert varnish which features a host of animals and other ambiguous characters. Scientists have attributed rock art panels to the Fremont people (950-1250 AD) with some additional figures like horses being attributed to the Ute people who occupied the lands 400 years later.
