Patty Falls, Englewood MetroPark in Early Autumn
The Story: Englewood MetroPark, near Englewood, Ohio, owes its existence to the Miami Conservancy District formed after the Great Flood of 1913. In building a series of upstream dams that in heavy rains store flood waters, the MCD procured lands in designated floodplains. Today, these floodplains also serve residents of the Miami Valley as awesome open spaces for the Five Rivers MetroPark system. One such park feature lies in Patty Falls which is part of the Stillwater River watershed. On this early fall day, the trail from the falls aligned with the evening sun whose light gracefully raked down these steps.
