The Story: This image captures the 2016 rising of the Hunter’s Moon over northeastern St Clair County, Illinois, outside Lebanon IL. With the onset of cooler weather, our farmers were busy harvesting crops and clearing fields. These farmers were very friendly, but a little curious why I was standing on a quiet country road. After offering their roadside assistance, I explained in the next few minutes, this scene would become even more picturesque with the rising of the full moon…an image I’d waited several weeks to capture.
