The Story: Within Island MetroPark lies the Leslie L Diehl Band Shell. It’s an Art Deco concrete structure painted in bright white with blue interior accents and hosts plays and outdoor concerts. The Dayton Chamber of Commerce built the structure in 1933 during the Works Progress Administration era and was subsequently dedicated to the people of Dayton for the enjoyment of music and entertainment.
