George Rogers Clark Park at Golden Hour Panorama
The Story: Outside of Springfield, Ohio lies the Battle of Peckuwe site which was the largest Revolutionary War battle west of the Appalachians. With the war ravaging the east, the British allied with the Shawnee in harassing settlers of the Northwest. In response, Colonel George Rogers Clark and 1,000 Kentucky Militia arrived at this site to fight the Shawnee. Today, the Clark County Park District preserves the site through its historical education center located on the distant horizon. On this fall evening, the yellow tips of Ohio Goldenrod (Oligoneuron ohioense) catch the last light from the setting sun making for this magical scene.
