Fluid Dynamics Sculpture, Dayton OH No. 3

The Story:      Dayton loves its inventors, thus on the corner of Patterson Boulevard and Fifth Street lies this yellow sculpture called “Fluid Dynamics”. The sculpture is part of the Patterson Boulevard Canal Parkway which the city uses to connect, RiverScape, 5/3 Ball Park, and the historic Oregon District. The art was funded by the family of George A. Pflaum who has a three-generation publishing history in Dayton Ohio. They commission Jon Barlow of Yellow Springs in creating the piece which draws influence from the Miami Erie Canal, our rich river system, and Dayton’s invention and creative legacy.
