Deptford Pink Wildflower
The Story: While exploring one of the newest parks in the Beaver Creek Wetlands Association and Greene County Parks and Trails, Pearl’s Fen offered many intriguing macro views. On the floor of the fen grew these small pink, five-petaled flowers called Deptford Pink (Dianthus armeria). This species loves the clay-rich soils of Greene County Ohio and is part of the pink family (Caryophyllaceae).
