Dayton Skyline from the Joseph R. Kanak Park

The Story:      In 2020 the City of Dayton reworked the old intersection at Valley and Keowee Streets. By connecting a war memorial to the Joseph R. Kanak Park, they calmed local traffic and improved a park space commonly called, “The Point”.  The project links the Old North Dayton Neighborhood to the Mad River Recreational Trail. As I explored the park on this Spring day I found a bronze armillary built into an overlook of the Mad River and the Dayton Skyline.
