British Fort at George Rogers Clark Park
The Story: George Rogers Clark Park, west of Springfield, Ohio serves as the scene of the largest Revolutionary War battle west of the Appalachians. Following the harassment of settlers by the British and Shawnee, Colonel Clark arrived at this site. The triangular fort was created by British Forces, who at the time of the battle were not present and operating near Detroit. The Battle of Peckuwe commenced against the Shawnee who occupied the fort.e, meadows, and a waterfall. The waterfall drains into Hosterman Lake and eventually the Mad River.
