Harveysburg Ohio Art Prints

Harveysburg is a small village in eastern Warren County whose history reaches back to the earliest frontier settlements in southwest Ohio. The village was named after the Harvey family, early Quaker settlers who helped establish the community in the early nineteenth century.

Harveysburg developed along important travel routes connecting the Ohio River settlements with the interior of the Northwest Territory. Among those routes was the historic Bullskin Trace, a frontier trail used by pioneers, traders, and legendary frontiersman Simon Kenton.

Today the village remains a quiet gateway to the surrounding countryside and the shores of nearby Caesar Creek State Park, where forests, farmland, and open water shape the landscape.

Harveysburg Ohio Landmarks

  • Elizabeth Harvey Free Black School: One of the most historically significant sites in the village, this early school provided education to African American children during a time when such opportunities were rare in Ohio.
  • Bullskin Trace Memorial: This memorial recognizes the historic frontier route that once passed through the area and honors the legacy of Simon Kenton and the early pioneers who traveled the trace.
  • Caesar Creek State Park: Located just outside the village, the lake and surrounding parklands provide sweeping views, wooded hills, and peaceful water landscapes that define much of the region’s scenery.
