The first building erected on Lehigh University was Packer Hall, which today serves as University Center. Another building close by is the architecturally significant building called the Linderman Library. Asa named the library after his daughter, Lucy Packer Linderman and built it to memorialize her name. It was built in 1929 and its gothic architecture is impressive on the outside and the inside where it houses 20,000 rare books.
